Hi, I’m Ashta!

Ashta Hockings

Senior Occupational Therapist

Ashta is a passionate Occupational Therapist with over a decade’s worth of experience. After graduating with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy from the University of Queensland, Ashta went on to complete further studies, graduating with a Master of Autism Studies from Griffith University in 2016. There she completed a research study exploring the potential of digital play facilitating or preventing social interaction with peers for a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Ashta’s passion is working in paediatrics, and she strongly believes that when working with children, collaboration is key. It is together, with a strong and supportive team, that achievement and growth is facilitated. To ensure holistic care, Ashta has extensive experience working alongside:

  • Physiotherapists

  • Speech and language pathologists

  • Psychologists

  • Teachers

  • Paediatricians

She has primarily worked in community settings and has supervised Occupational Therapists across Queensland.

Ashta believes that children are blessings and that each child has their own strengths. Being a part of their journey and supporting their growth and achievements is a passion of hers. She believes that every child is a treasure, and loves that they always teach her something new. Ashta is a mum, wife and in her spare time enjoys spending time out in nature. Ashta is registered with Occupational Therapy Australia
