Speech & Occupational Therapy screeners
Not sure where to start if you have concerns about your child’s development? A screener is a short, supportive assessment designed to give you clarity and direction.
During the session, we:
Identify your child’s strengths
Highlight any areas that may need support
Provide practical strategies you can use at home
Guide you on whether further speech and/or occupational therapy may be helpful
For older children, screeners can pinpoint specific challenges and offer targeted recommendations to support their development at home, school, and beyond.
This is a great first step if you’re seeking reassurance, early guidance, or next steps for your child.
If you have any concerns about your child’s development, Skills to Grow offer Free Speech & Occupational Therapy Screeners for 0-12 year olds.
It is recommended that Participants who are 0-5 years old preferably must not have commenced Prep, should not be registered with NDIS or should not have a professional diagnosis.
Participants who are 6-12 years old should not have a professional diagnosis or have received previous therapy supports.
In addition to a Screener assessment, participants aged 7-12 years old wishing to pursue the NDIS pathway will require an official professional diagnosis - please refer to your paediatrician.
Screeners are held on Thursdays during school Term.
